What Are Customers Are Saying About Us

Sophie with ballThe first time I watched Tricia and our dog Sophie (8 weeks old at the time) interact, I knew that Pawsitive Approach Pet Services was the right fit for our family. Tricia presented as very professional and caring. Her passion for animals and providing great care for them was evident from the moment we met. Now, a year and a half later Sophie is still enjoying her walks with Yvonne and she even goes on play dates 2 days a week where she enjoys socializing with a group of her dog friends in a safe and controlled environment. Sophie has been a wonderful dog and we have no doubts that the Pawsitive Approach team has played a big part in this. Each day we come home to a note in the journal from Yvonne letting us know what Sophie has been up to that day and we feel confident that she is in good hands. We have never been disappointed by their service and they often exceed our expectations. We would recommend Pawsitive Approach Pet Services to anyone who loves their pet as much as we love Sophie- they really are “the next best thing to you”!

Pawsitive Approach

Patches“The next best thing to you” is absolutely true when it comes to Tricia and her staff.

We have a dog (Patches) and two cats (8-Ball and Earl) who are happy and dedicated clients enjoying such services as in-home pet sitting, dog walking, pet shuttle, as well as overnight pet care.

Whether we are away for the day, overnight or travelling for a week or two, we can relax and know that our furry family members are safe and well-cared for.

It is wonderful to have such a valuable and convenient service so close to home. We don’t know what we would do without you!

FaireyHi Trish,

Just wanted to drop a quick note about the wonderful service Richard is providing us. He goes above and beyond daily. We are SO happy with everything he does for us. On Friday it was raining very hard, so Richard held an umbrella above Katie as they walked because he knew she does not like the rain. WOW

Angel and Willow Nova Scotia Duck Tollers

Angel and Willow

Tricia and her team have always been there for us when we needed them since we started using the service in 2006. We have two Nova Scotia Duck Tollers and use Pawsitive Approach when we need someone to check in on them while we’re at work. Pawsitive Approach is more than a dog walking service to us — they represent peace of mind and care for our companions. For us the visit usually involves a half hour private visit/walk but they get so much more. The detailed messages really put us at ease. When I’ve been away travelling for work Tricia has thought to email me photos of the girls which often makes my day! Tricia has even rescued our plants now and then as part of a pup visit. We have also used her canine massage services for our oldest Toller, Willow. I highly recommend her service.

A note to Tricia and GlennChopper

From Ron, Geri and Chopper

For the last 5 years our 6 year old Shelty has been a guest at Pawsitive Approach.

Chopper is our kid with fur and we feel very confident when we leave Chopper with Tricia and her team. When we drive down Tricia’s street Chopper gets all excited and when we arrive at the house she run’s to the door.

When we have taken trips whether short or long we know Chopper will be well taken care of. Sometimes it is at Tricia’s home or we have had a sitter at our home to take care of Chopper and we get up dates on her holiday when we get home.

Tricia is very mindful of making sure all her guest have their shots and are in good health, pet safety always comes first.

Thank Tricia and Glenn for taking such good care of our baby and she will be back soon for a visit.

Ron, Geri and Chopper

P.S we would recommend Pawsitive Approach to anyone who wants a loving and caring environment for their pet.

TESTIMONIAL:

mistyA“When Misty came into our lives over 5 yrs ago, we didn’t know a whole lot about what was out there in terms of Pet sitting services.  I met with a couple of Petsitters at the time, however, not feeling quite comfortable or satisfied with the services offered, I then considered contacting one more local service, Tricia Soulier from Pawsitive Approach Pet Services Inc.

I met with Tricia personally at my home and that’s when everything changed.  I knew at that very moment that my search to find the right and qualified individual was over.  Tricia understood my concerns as well as Misty’s needs right from the start.  Her experience level, knowledge, kind and caring attitude meant everything and made us feel safe and secure about leaving our Misty with her while going away on vacation.

We were completely at ease and the unique service arrangements gave us the peace of mind that we needed for our little girl, we were worry free and that she was left in the best & proper care.

Since then, we have added another member to our family and when I spoke to Tricia about my concerns regarding Kayne, she was very supportive in putting a plan together for us……Tricia is the type of person that doesn’t think twice about going out of her way to provide the service that her clients wish for their pets, she has a genuine passion at doing what she does and that she is there for her customers.

In addition, her staff are also very friendly and knowledgeable ~~ the perfect package!

We would most definitely highly recommend Pawsitive Approach Pet Services to anyone who is seeking to find a Professional, Reputable and Honest petsitting service.

Search no more……..as they truly stand behind being “The Next Best Thing To You”!!

“Not even a babysitter for a child would provide such a detailed report on the child’s stay with the sitter.”

Thanks so much for looking after our boy Tricia. Please also pass our thanks along to Glenn.

I LOVED the written report! Ernest and I both agreed that not even a babysitter for a child would provide such a detailed report on the child’s stay with the sitter.

Your level of service is unprecedented, I’m sure. Thanks again Tricia. Rambo will be back!

“This kind of personal service is hard to find!”

After a long winter of our Rottweiler using the backyard as her washroom facility we were not looking forward to spring cleaning this year!! Once I heard of Pawsitive Approach and their cleaning services we quickly took a brochure over to our neighbors, who have 2 dogs and called Trish, owner of Pawsitive Approach. Trish was very friendly and booked an appointment to do both yards. The backyards were a disaster and no one wanted to accomplish the task of attempting some sort of clean up. Trish arrived, greeted the dogs and began the task!

The job was done quick, efficiently and our lawn was not damaged. When Trish was finished she kindly left behind home baked cookies for our dogs. This kind of personal service is hard to find! We would highly recommend Pawsitive Approach and their services we offer to anyone who has animals and are in need of a little help!

Sincerely.

“It was Trish to the rescue.”

Trish has come to my rescue several times, and my cats couldn’t be happier! The first time Trish looked after my cats was a true emergency. I was feeling very ill and went down to the emergency clinic to see the doctor. He sent me to the E.R. at the hospital and two hours later, I was in the operating room. I ended up in the hospital for five days. When I left home, I had no idea that I would not be going home and had therefore made no provisions for my cats Harry, Cookie, Joey and Quincy.

I was able to make a few phone calls so I called Trish (Thank goodness she was home!) and asked for help! Trish was just great. She got the spare key to my home from the Condo Corp and just took over. I had no food left for the cats so Trish purchased their brand of food for them so their diet would not change. It was such a relief to know that my cats would be well cared for. Trish came in twice a day and fed them, cleaned the litter (which is no small feat when you have 4 cats!) and made sure everyone was comfortable and well.

The second time I asked Trish to look after my cats was in October when I had to go home to Nova Scotia for a funeral and once again, it was Trish to the rescue. While I was away, Quincy got very sick. Trish took him to the vet and ended up with a number of medications that had to be administered at different times each day. Quincy had to be kept in isolation while Trish monitored his fluid intake. All this, as well as looking after the other three.

Trish reacted to this emergency like the professional that she is. She was the one who noticed that Quincy was sick, (he seemed ok when I left) and thanks to Trish when I came home Quincy was feeling much better.

I would not hesitate to recommend Trish to anyone who is looking for a responsible, loving, caring, sensible, punctual and dependable person to look after their animals.

Thanks Trish, we couldn’t have done it without you!

“I immediately felt very comfortable and confident that you would
take good care of my horses while I was gone.”

Dear Tricia,

Just a brief note to express my many thanks for taking such good care of my horses while I had to go out of town last weekend for Thanksgiving (Oct 11th & 12th) and for feeding the cats, the geese and our lone duck.

I was impressed with the way that you made a point of taking notes for yourself and you asked a lot of questions to ensure that nothing would be forgotten. You seemed genuinely interested and concerned about the care that I requested. I also appreciated the fact that you were available on such short notice, especially with it being a holiday weekend.

I have never used a Pet Sitter before and I have definitely never had a complete stranger take car of my horses before. I must admit I was a little nervous to try something like this, but upon meeting you and spending time with you, I immediately felt very comfortable and confident that you would take good care of my horses while I was gone. When I returned, it was like I hadn’t even left, everything had been done as requested. The horses looked happy and everything in the barn was in order.

I have raved about you to all my horsey friends and I have personally recommended that they try your services should the need ever arise.

I look forward to using you again in the near future to care for my babies.

Regards,

“I know she’ll get lots of fun, attention and exercise…and so will my dog.”

Trish is one of those big animal lovers. Her heart is always open to any animal who needs temporary care.

When I have to be away, there’s no one else I’d rather entrust my Boxer with than Trish. I know she’ll get lots of fun, attention and exercise…and so will my dog.

“When I miscalculated the amount food she would need, she took a little to the pet store and searched until she found the one that matched.”

Tricia Soulier has, over the past 10 years, taken care of my dogs on numerous week-ends and for at least two full weeks each year. She has cared for their needs through puppyhood and well into their senior years, adjusting the care to suit their needs.

She has always given unstintingly of herself and her time while still following my instructions as to treats and house manners and has always returned them to me healthy and happy.

When I miscalculated the amount food she would need, she took a little to the pet store and searched until she found the one that matched, rather than giving an old dog a different food that might upset a sensitive system. Another time, she took one to the vet when she noticed a change in behaviour and managed to head off a nasty viril infection.

Tricia has my complete trust and truly makes my dogs a part of her home when they are with her. I would leave her in charge anytime, but, more importantly, the dogs trust her (as do most animals) and I find that dogs are very good judges of character.

“My family misses me when they’re away, but they feel secure knowing that I’m being well taken care of in my own home.”

Before we met Tricia, my family would take me to stay with relatives when they travelled. But car rides made me very stressed, and it would take me a while to adapt to a new house. Now when my family has to go out of town, they arrange for one of my friends from Pawsitive Approach come to visit me each day.

I run to the door when she arrives, and she gives me lots of cuddles. She shines the laser pointer for me to chase until I’m all tired out. My family told her how much I like to sit at the screen door, so she makes sure to let me get some fresh air. She writes a journal to let my family know what I was up to while they were gone, and e-mails them to reassure them that I’m doing fine. My family misses me when they’re away, but they feel secure knowing that I’m being well taken care of in my own home.

–Misty

By the way, one of my friends refers to your service as my “cat nanny” – I like it!

“We felt comfortable with the walkers coming into our home.”

My husband and I worked shift work, and were often asked to work unexpected shifts. Trish and her team at Pawsitive Approach were always able to help us out with sudden visit requests. Our Golden Retriever was happy to get out with Trish’s team of walkers, according to our neighbours, and we had great relationships with our walkers when we were able to meet with them. We felt comfortable with the walkers coming into our home, and that the walkers had a great interest in our puppy, via our dog diary.

Trish also personally helped me through the first time I had to administer ear drops to Winnie, through an exchange of e-mails, where she proved her knowledge of canines and their habits and provided solid advice and encouragement to me as an owner.

We highly recommend Pawsitive Approach Pet Services to anyone who is looking for quality service.

Joey and Tricia“Tricia opens her home to Joey in spite of his disabilities and accidents and I have total peace of mind while I am away.”

Tricia and her team at Pawsitive Approach have been looking after my mom’s dog for well over a year now. Tricia was recommended to me by my vet clinic. My mom had to move in with me after developing Alzheimer’s, as well as my mom she brought her little schnauzer dog and cat. Well Joey developed diabetes and is insulin dependant as well as a special diet. My mom goes to the Alzheimer’s clinic during the day and poor Joey couldn’t go all day without a walk (bathroom break).
Pawsitive Approach has been walking Joey on a daily basis and my life has been much easier. Not coming home to messes to clean up. If Joey has had an occasional accident it is cleaned up when they arrive. They have always left a journal on the days they have activities with Joey and the cats. I know that the team has the knowledge to identify medical concerns with Joey and will act appropriately.

They have even called me with concerns for Joey’s health and have taken him to the vet’s. Tricia was the person who got the clinic to get Joey on track with the proper food mix and insulin when he started failing 6 months ago. Also, because of his diabetes Joey is blind so he is very dependant on his walker’s care. He gets very excited when the ladies come to see him. The team even tends to the cats and their litter box issues.

When I go out of town Joey stays with Tricia in her home for full time love and care. Tricia opens her home to Joey in spite of his disabilities and accidents and I have total peace of mind while I am away.

I have no hesitation in recommending Tricia and her staff to care for your pets.

“When you don’t arrive, she has to “settle” for us.”

We want to thank you so very much for the wonderful care you give to Sparkle when we’re not here.  She looks so forward to her walks three times a week.  We never have to worry about our long hours away from the home during the week when we know that you’ll be arriving to take Sparkle for her walk and give her the love and care that is equal to ours.  The only concern we have is that, sometimes we worry that she loves you too much.

When we’re at home on weekends, she seems to watch the door around mid-day, thinking that you’re coming by to take her for her walk.  When you don’t arrive, she has to “settle” for us.  You’re reliability; punctuality and trustworthiness are beyond question.  We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your services (and have) to anyone and everyone who loves their pets.  We can’t thank you enough for all you have done to enhance the quality of Sparkle’s life.

Thank you.

From Sparkle and Her Family

“Laddie adores Trish, and I know the feeling is mutual.  I have never at any time worried about him, or worried about whether or not he is getting the appropriate care.”

Laddie Last summer, my 13 year old West Highland Terrier Laddie, was diagnosed with diabetes.  He had to have insulin given to him by a needle twice a day.  As well, he had very restricted food intake and feeding schedule which had to be adhered to.

Apart from the obvious dilemma as in “oh no, I have to give him a needle, poor thing (and poor me)”, my second dilemma was how I was going to cope, as my job required a fair amount of travel.  While I do have a husband who is happy to look after the usual things when I’m away, such as food, water, playtime etc., there was no way he was prepared to give a needle.  Needles terrify him!

I pondered as to what I could do, and happened upon Trish’s van in our grocery store parking lot, which had signs for her pet sitting services company, Pawsitive Approach.  Not knowing anything about the company or what the services might be, when I found I was next going to be out of town for a couple of days, I approached her with the possibility of her attending to Laddie twice a day, giving him his meals and insulin injection.  Trish came to meet me and Laddie at my house.  She spent a lot of time going over her credentials with me, as well as making friends with Laddie.  Her credentials are nothing less than impressive, and being that I was only going to be away for a couple of days, we decided we would try it out to see if it was workable for Trish, Laddie and me.

I can honestly say that not only did it work out well, I found my lifesaver in Trish and her company, Pawsitive Approach.  Since the first time Trish looked after Laddie, I have been out of town on a number of occasions, on two occasions each period was for 2 weeks at a time.   Each time, Trish has looked after Laddie and she treats him just like he was one of her own.  Laddie adores Trish, and I know the feeling is mutual.  I have never at any time worried about him, or worried about whether or not he is getting the appropriate care.

Trish and her company have been outstanding, she has always been there to provide the service, even over the Christmas holidays, and I know that if I am not around, Laddie could not be in better hands.

I would highly recommend Trish and Pawsitive Approach to anyone who is looking for someone to care for their canine or feline companion when they are not there.  If anyone would like to talk to me about Trish and her services, I would be more than happy to elaborate further in a conversation or to answer questions related to my experience.

“You (and those who work for you) have always met — and more often exceeded — my expectations.”

Tricia,

Today I had an unpleasant experience with a service provider (not dog related), but it seems all too common these days.  I often wonder if there is too much business to be had, because so many people seem unconcerned about retaining customers.  To that end, I would like to say that you (and those who work for you) have always met — and more often exceeded — my expectations (and that’s saying a lot since you deal with some very cherished members of the family).  I wish there were more like you out there!

Thanks again,

Martha Taylor

Jennifer DavidsonTricia Soulier and her amazing team have been part of our family for the past three years. I cannot say enough good things about the way they take care of my four legged children. It is such piece of mind knowing that when I cannot be with them they are well taken care of.

When I arrive home every afternoon I have very content and happy dogs waiting for me. The care they receive is professional but, most of all very personal and specific to each dog’s needs.

The staff is wonderful at leaving a small written summary of the day letting me know what they had done on their visit and if there are any concerns that I should be made aware of. My family consider them a part of our extended family and really couldn’t do what we do in our busy lives without them and the constant support and love they provide our dogs.

Dax SpencerWorking with Trish and her team, we discussed various ways to increase our dog Dax’s activity levels, aside from a 30 minute leash walk. He had recently put on a few pounds and supervised play dates were arranged!  Dax just loves them! He can fetch a ball (one of his favorite things – he thinks it’s his job!), dig a hole, run around with other dogs for socialization and even have a splash in the kiddie pool on those warm days to keep cool! We are delighted with the results – our Dax has lost weight, he’s much calmer and less anxious! He’s a much happier dog! We can always tell when we arrive home from work the days he’s had a play date! Thank you!

I just wanted to thank you so much for your visits again.  It means a great deal to me to be able to consistently have the same reliable, caring person come for each visit, especially when we have adopted dogs with some history and little nuances.  Barney with his leg, Monty with his willfulness (too smart for his own good sometimes…) and then Lee got so attached to me that in the beginning I wasn’t sure how he would fare when I went away.  I worked hard so that he was able to have the rest of his years be stress free and free him of the seizures he used to have and then be able to get off the strong drugs they had him on.  He can be timid/bashful around new people and I think if things were too irregular he could get too stressed when I’m away and I want to make sure his seizures don’t return.   So….I thank you so much for being a reliable, caring constant for us.  It really means a great deal.

I believe the boys will think up something special for you for Christmas this year…..

Thanks again,

Hi Tricia,

Just wanted to let you know that I saw a huge difference in Tucker yesterday when I got home. He didn’t seem so stiff and you can tell he is feeling better because he was initiating play and basically acting like a puppy. It was good to see that he was feeling better. Hopefully, the next one will feel and do just as good as the first one.

Thanks again for doing that for him.

AllyHi Trish,

Thank you so much for the kind words about Ally. We know exactly how she can be when trying to get used to someone new! With her getting older, she has gotten much more nervous around new people as well. You are so patient with her and got to know the real her. She really is a loveable dog once she gets to know you and feels comfortable with you. It is wonderful to know that we can leave her in such great hands and not have to worry at all when we are away.

Thank you again!
